Fall means back to school for kids and back to work for teachers and staff. Here are 5 back to school ideas to welcome students and staff and set them up for a great new year.
“Meet and Greet” School Open House
Before the first day, host an open house or orientation where students and staff can meet each other and tour the school. Have imprinted school supplies, like folders, pencils, rulers and magnets, on hand.
Back-to-school Spirit
Have teachers and your school mascot greet students at the door with school spirit items like noisemakers, shakers, and pennants.
Create-Your-Own T-shirts
As a fun class icebreaker, have students and teachers design their own t-shirts that tell about themselves. Provide fabric paint, markers, buttons, sequins and more. Then, have each person tell about their shirt and wear them the following Friday.
Teacher Survival Kits
Give each teacher a “survival kit” to start the year off right. Start with a travel mug or tumbler, and fill it with fun things like:
• custom chocolate bars or granola bars
• instant coffee or tea
• gift cards
• imprinted key chains
• appreciation neck straps
Classroom Door Decorating
Have teachers decorate their doors in fun themes. They can use background paper, murals, cutouts, bulletin board kits and more!
